Free footprint charts for crypto
A footprint chart opens up each candle and shows how much was bought and sold at every price inside it. DM Charts draws footprints for free, in the browser, for crypto markets on the major exchanges.

What the footprint shows
A normal candle shows four prices: open, high, low and close. A footprint keeps those and adds the trades. At each price level inside the candle you see the volume that traded there, split into market buys and market sells, or shown as delta (buys minus sells).
That answers questions a candle cannot. Did the breakout have real buying behind it? Were sellers absorbed at the low? Where inside the bar did most of the volume trade?
Footprint features in DM Charts
- Volume or delta at each price, coloured so the heavy levels stand out.
- Bar Stats under the chart: bought, sold, total volume and delta for every bar.
- Any timeframe, from seconds to days, with history that keeps loading as you scroll.
- Works with the order book heatmap, CVD and volume profile on the same chart.
- Replay: play the footprint forward bar by bar to practise reading it.
How to open one
Open the chart, pick a crypto market such as Bitcoin on Bybit or Binance, and choose Footprint as the chart type. Or press Ask and type “footprint chart”.
If you are new to footprints, read How to read a footprint chart first. It walks through delta, imbalance and absorption with examples.
Footprint charts usually cost money
Most platforms put the footprint behind a paid plan or a desktop licence. On TradingView, for example, volume footprints are part of the paid plans. DM Charts gives them to everyone, without an account. See DM Charts vs TradingView.
Questions
- Is the footprint chart free?
- Yes. There is no paid plan and no sign-up.
- Which markets have footprint charts?
- Crypto perpetual futures and spot markets from the major exchanges, including Bitcoin, Ether and Solana.
- What is delta on a footprint chart?
- Delta is market buy volume minus market sell volume. Positive delta means buyers were more aggressive at that price or in that bar.
